Avon to Lay Off 900 Workers

Avon Products Inc., the world’s largest direct seller of cosmetics, said it will lay off more than 900 employees as part of its restructuring program. The move is part of an ongoing process to take layers out of the organization, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Avon expects to log charges of $25 million to $30 million as a result of the layoffs. New York-based Avon is undergoing a restructuring plan that is expected to cost up to $500 million....
